How Fire Alarm Systems Work
A fire alarm system controls all the fire alarm modules in the building.
The components include:
- Alarm initiating devices: smoke detectors and heat sensors
- Alarm notification appliances: sirens or devices that make loud noises
- Fire control units: sprinkler systems or fire extinguisher systems
- Power supplies and wiring
- Magnetic Door Locks
Fire alarm systems are set off in a few ways. They are triggered automatically by smoke detectors, heat detectors or manually. The sound is often accompanied by blinking or flashing lights and produces blasts to alert occupants in the building.
